CM calls to make cleanliness drive a success

    Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has given a clarion call to the people of the State to make cleanliness drive a part of their lives and also motivate the future generation to adopt it for a healthy society. He said that it was a matter of pride for the State that Mandi district ranked at the top in the cleanliness campaign in the Country. He was presiding over  the ‘Mandi Vikas Abhiyan Samman Samaroh’  organized at Mandi today.

     

    Shri Virbhadra Singh said the progress of any area was possible only when the women were empowered and they contribute actively in socio-economic development. He urged the youth to be a part of skill development scheme as per their choice as the training of skill development was important for each youth of the State for getting employment. He added that every youth would be trained in one or another trade so that they could find employment avenues immediately after the training. The Chief Minister said the State Congress Government had ensured equitable and all around development every year of the State which had ushered a new era of progress and prosperity.

     

    Deputy Commissioner Mandi Shri Sandeep Kadam apprised that Mahila Mandals and Self Help Groups that contributed immensely in the Mandi Vikas Abhiyan and today their number had reached to 4490 in one year. He said the activities undertaken by the Mahila Mandals and Self Help Groups under this campaign like economic empowerment, cleanliness, Beti Bachao and life insurance had helped in giving boost to economic activities and creation of self employment opportunities in the entire district. The Chief Minister was honoured by various Mahila Mandals and Self Help Groups on the occasion.
