Tourist resort Manali, Dalhousie & Shimla experience snowfall

Tourist resort Manali, Dalhousie and Shimla experienced light snowfall in the State and down streams were lashed by rain showers and thunderstorm disrupting normal life. Reports arriving said that Korhi about 15 km from Manali got 7.5 centimeters snowfall. Tourist resort Manali also had light snowfall and thundershowers today.


The gate way to Lahaul Spiiti, 13050 ft Rohtang pass recorded 40 to 50 cm snowfall. Lahaul Spiiti district cut of from the rest world as vehicular traffic disrupted on the Rohtang pass by snowfall for last three days. Tourist resort Dalhousie experienced snow fall for third consecutive day today. The Division headquarter of Pangi Kilar reported fresh snowfall today. The tribal town reported five to seven cm snowfall yesterday.


The minimum temperature recorded in Shimla 4.9 degrees, Sundernagar 5.6 degrees, Bhuntar 5 degrees, Kalpa -2.6, Dharamshala 9, Una 7.5, Nahan 7.9, Solan 4.5, Manali 0.6, Keylong -5.9 and Kangra 7.4 degrees respectively. Tourist resort Kufri and Narkanda experienced light spell of snow fall this afternoon enthralling the tourist.


Dharamshala and Kangra lashed by 13 mm rain each, Unà 9 mm, Solan 3 mm, Sundernagar and Seobagh 4 mm each, Bilaspur 2 mm,
Bhuntar in Kullu 1 mm respectively. In Solan, Sirmaur and Bilaspur district hit by high velocity wind uprooting trees, blowing off roof and disrupting power supply. The Met office warned of heavy rain and snowfall at many places in high and mid hill and rainfall and thunder showers in the foot hills in the next 24 hours.
