Rain or snowfall likely to occur in part of Himachal Pradesh in the high reaches on New year however it may be mainly dry in the State, Met Official said here today. Indian Meteorological Department local Met office in-charge Mr. Manmohan Singh said that the Western Disturbances likely to bring rain or snowfall on Jan 1 onward however rest of the State likely to remain mainly dry.
It was pleasant in this capital town as State experienced bright sunshine today recorded further rise in minimum temperature. The minimum temperature of Shimla was abnormally high at 11.7 degrees, 8.3 degree above normal. Keylong was coldest with minimum temperature of -2 degrees Celsius in Lahaul Spiti, Sunderngar 2.5 degrees followed by Bhuntar in Kullu at 1.6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur, Manali in Kullu and Chamba 3.2 degrees each respectively.
Bilaspur was low at 3.8 degrees, Mandi and Solan 4 degrees each, Hamirpur 4.7 degrees, Una 5 degrees, Palampur and Kangra 6 degrees each, Nahan in Sirmaur 7.5 degrees and Dharamshala 8.6 degrees. The maximum temperature of Shimla was 18 degree Celsius, Sundernagar was high at 20.7 degrees, Bhuntar 20.6 degrees Kalpa 15.6 degrees. Dharamshala 17.2 degrees, Una 23 degrees, Nahan 17.4 degrees and Solan 20.4 degrees respectively. Met office forecast mainly dry weather in the next 24 hours.
