After Christmas rain and snowfall in tourists resorts and few other parts of this Hill State, the weather was mainly sunny and clear today however Mercury went down to minus six degrees at Keylong, in tribal Lahaul Spiti district recording as lowest in the Season. The Met office said that the weather would be mainly dry in the next 24 hours after slight respite from light rainfall in the State ending three month long dry spell.
The minimum temperature of Shimla town was low at four degrees. Tourist resort Manali was at -1.4 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur -2 degrees, Bhuntar and Sundernagar -0.6 degrees, Solan 2 degrees, Kangra 4.2 degrees, Una 5.6 degrees, Nahan 6.7 degrees and Dharamshala 8.8 degrees.
Tourist resort Kufri, Dalhousie and high reaches of Manali recorded light snowfall during the last 24 hours however snow already started thawing in most parts of the State. Vehicular traffic was open from Manali to Keylong as it was cleared yesterday. All tourist resorts experienced bright sunshine in the morning and the tourists enjoyed the clear weather.
Tourist resort Shimla recorded 3 centimeter snowfall and 1.8 mm rain in the last 24 hours, followed by Kahu in Hamirpur 7 mm, Pachhad of Sirmaur and Dharampur of Mandi 6 mm each, Berthin in Bilaspur, Mehre in Kangra and Nahan of Sirmaur 4 mm each, Jubbal in Shimla, Jubbar Hatti and Solan 3 mm each.
