Forest blazes gutted 13 houses & 7 cowsheds: Minister


    Massive fire gutted forest wealth under Chopal forest beat at Chiknipulh near Jhurunalah on the intervening night of Dec 21 and 22, also engulfed 13 houses and seven cowsheds and one store , Government informed the House today. Giving su0-moto statement on the issue Forest Minister Mr. Thakur Singh Bharmori told in the State Assembly that fire broke out on Dec 21 night in the forest also spread to the thirteen houses, seven cowsheds and one store rendering 13 families homeless.


    He said that a team of forest firefighters reached on the spot on 0400 hours yesterday and doused the inferno and saved the houses. He said that 13 families were being provided two each trees under Timber Distribution scheme so that affected could rebuilt their houses and one TD trees were being provided to victims of cowsheds and stores. Minister assured that more trees would be provided to help the victims so that they could reconstruct houses quickly keeping the cold waves in mind.


    Minister said that the State Government will also give free ration for three days to the victims and all needy to be given employments. He said that FIR has been registered to find the cause of fire.
