Nomination for cashless village: HP Govt. to verify claims

After the announcement by Union Government to encourage cashless and digital payments in the Country, several fake exaggerated statements are appearing in the media from various quarters staking extraordinary claims about already existing of online payment gateway system in villages.

 

State Director of Information Technology Ms. Manasi Sahay Thakur said in a press statement issued on Tuesday that it could not immediately verify the report that there are two villages in the State which is already staking claims of digital payments showing ignorance of this fact. Responding to media hype on behalf of some Lokmitra Kendra Ms. Sahay said that nomination of two villages of Himachal Pradesh for the award regarding Digital Payments would be done only after field verification of such villages, however it did not have any such records so far.

 

She said that Common Service Centers – Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC-SPV) agency has been asked to visit two villages in the State to verify claims made by Lokmitra Kendra operators regarding digital payments. Without confirming the any such report official said that its own officers would verify the claims by making personal visit to these villages. The nomination for award under the Digital Payment Scheme of Government of India would be done only after the actual verification of the claim made by CSC-SPV and Lokmitra Kendra operators.
