Shimla: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) has wound up its gas and oil exploration and drilling project at the famous shrine site of Jawalaji in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. State Industries Minister Kishan Kapoor said in a written reply to a query raised by Parvin Kumar (Sulah-BJP) that drilling work was started in December 2009 but because only water with very mild gas was found, the exploration project was abandoned by ONGC.
Earlier, ONGC had also carried out drilling in the area in 80’s and 90’s as geographical surveys had indicated huge presence of oil and natural gas in the area. In 1993, the exploration was abandoned because ONGC did not have proper drilling equipment to reach the depth of 10,000 metres. Presently, ONGC is carrying out oil exploration in Kasauli hills of Solan district where it is expecting sure success as there are number of indicators reflecting that the area is rich in natural gas and oil. I have used my senses and checked the site being drilled by ONGC at kasauli and found as below The main drilling point is dislocated by 3.5 to 4 meters and further drilling is incling towards NORTH EST, and at this__location even if ONGC drill upto 10000 meters it would be a failure. The exact point drilling would have given the below listed datas. 1) Gas availibility = at – 1250 Meters to -4360 ,2) Oil availibility is at -4361 to -4363 meters ( the ONGC can get at__discharge upto 15mm if diverted to exact loaction,Since ONGC is drilling at wrong point which is dislocated by 3.5 to 4 meters and further the drilling is inclined towards Norh west, ONGC Need to rectify this and make drilling straight and further to incling it towards SOUTH WEST Then only, ONGC__can get gas at level -3044 meters ( shoot ing of Gun at level -3044 might Be required.An hand made sketch has been handed over to The geologist and Mr H.__Singh ( Incharge of ONGC Kasauli).__ ONGC started rectifying the drilling position to make it straight after my checking and further they are trying to incline it towards SOUTH-WEST . If ONGC SUCEED THEY WILL GET AMPLE OF GAS AND OIL AT THE LEVELS GIVEN ABOVE

Sir, Due to techenical fault and very hard strata below The drilling could not reach at a level of -3044 meters.
To acheive the above depth for extacting Gas from (-)3044 meters ONGC has to fix the machinary.
and further it may take another 15-20 days for reaching (-)3044 meters ( as given by Me)this level.
Hope to get best results if ONGC Succeed to divert drilling towards SOUTH west.

Dear Sir,
The ONGC has drilled more than -3044 and no trace of gas has been found. The cases are Two- Either the verticality of the bore was not maintained or the very hard strata at this level could not found any fracture for nominal Gas leakage to boring point from under ground source.
Now ONGC is Drilling beyond this depth but this exercise is a waste exercise. ONGC Need To Divert it towards SOUTH WEST or the entire drilling will go in waste as the availability of Gas in around 4 meters away from present drilling.
If ONGC follow up the drawing issued by me then they can get Gas as well as Oil near level -4360.
But If ONGC continue drilling at this point nothing would become achievable and this would become a failure bore.
