People in the State today faced testing time as they had to brave long queues to transfer old Rs 1000 and Rs 500 Currency notes after opening of Banks and post office after one day holiday. People rushed to their respective banks and post office branches as they open its counter for historic currency swapping.
The queues swelled outside various bank branches and post offices where Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency note declared demonetiz on Nov 9 were exchanged by Rs 100, Rs. 50 and Rs 20 currency notes moreover some branches also released Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes today. However people especially woman and senior citizen have testing time and they had to wait for hours to have their turns.
People were waiting for the bank branches to open after break of one day today as the bearing without having lower denomination notes for their daily needs transaction or shopping. Market remained dull for second day due to dearth of currency liquidity for second day. Due to closing of ATMs in the state tourists also have to face hardships.
