Shimla MC told HC that they transferred all keymens

Shimla Municipal Corporation facing shortage of drinking water for long time apprised the Himachal Pradesh High Court that it had transferred all keymens as the court was hearing the matter today. The Court directed the State to file status report in a matter pertaining to the shortage of water supply in Shimla city. Earlier during the hearing of the petition it was brought to the notice of the Court that in order to ensure the equal distribution of water supply in the city, the M.C. has transferred all the keymens.

 

A Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and  Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a petition taken up suo moto by the Court as Public Interest Litigation on the news items published in section of media recently. The news papers reports even suggested that the sewage mixed water was being supplied to the residents, which has created an epidemic like situation in the Town. It was also reported that jaundice and other water born diseases are engulfing the people of the town and the number is on the increase day by day.
