Shimla: Two senior IPS officer of Himachal cadre, special DGP Deepak Baghai and suspended ADGP BS Thind, retired from the state police on March 31. Special DGP Deepak Baghai, a 1975 batch IPS officer, remained on various key posts in the state during his 35 year service. He was given a farewell party by the department officers and police personal here yesterday. ADGP BS Thind, a 1974 batch IPS officer, had been on suspension since January 22, 2009, as he was charged in an alleged case of extortion of money from a Parmanoo-based businessman. Thind completed 34 years of service, but he refused to attend the farewell ceremony.
