Governor urges youth to contribute in National development

HP Governor Acharya Devvrat said that the youth were the future of the Country and they should participate in constructive activities for the development of the Nation. He said that the Nation could only march ahead on the path of progress with the active support of the young generation. He was speaking on the occasion of annual prize distribution function of Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions at Kala Amb in Sirmour district on Monday evening.

 

He gave clarion call to the younger generation to respect and serve the elderly as their blessings and experiences pave the way for prosperity and discipline in life. He said the Mission of teaching fraternity should not be only to educate the students but also to make them intellectual, cultured and well educated.

 

Acharya Devvrat said that youth should abstain from drug abuse which was not only damaging their health but also destroying the future and weakening the Nation. He said that youth should be health conscious and maintain healthy lifestyle to remain physically fit which would automatically lead to healthy mind and positive thinking as well as good attitude which were pre-requisites for achieving success in life. He said that India was a young nation and it was our responsibility to provide education of humanity and values to our children along with the knowledge of words and employment oriented education.

 

He urged the people to come forward in preserving pollution free environment of the State.  He also laid stress on organic farming besides raring indigenous cows. He expressed happiness over effective implementation of save girl child, girl child education and for taking effective steps in preserving indigenous cattle by the district administration. The Governor appreciated the efforts of the management of the Institute in providing skill development education to their students where more than three thousand students of about 12 States were perusing their higher studies. He also congratulated the authorities for providing quality education.

 

Earlier, the Governor was accorded warm welcome on reaching Nahan by MLA Mr. Rajiv Bindal and district administration and prominent people of the district. Today, the Governor participated in a Cleanliness Campaign at Kheri village placed near Kala Amb in Sirmour district.  He himself took a broom and cleaned the main road along with officials of district administration and people in large number. On the occasion, he urged the people particularly, the youth and shopkeepers to participate actively in cleanliness campaign.

 

Later, he also visited Suketi Fossil Park and museum at Kala Amb and advised the authorities to provide more facilities for visiting research scholars and tourists. He also inspected Maa Bala Sundari Gau Sadan near Nahan and stressed upon the rearing of indigenous cow and their conservation to the officials of the Gau Sadan. He also visited point of origin of Markanda river and honored diver Shri Mahipal who rescued the children.
