Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said that the State Government has added priority for development of tribal areas and it was being ensured that they get all essential services nearer to their homes. He was addressing a public meeting at Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti district. He said the Spiti Valley had witnessed all-round development and various important developmental projects were being implemented in the valley to benefit the people.
The Chief Minister announced to provide employment to around 700 daily wagers of the Spiti valley round the year, besides giving them facilities of allowance. He also announced that as per the policy of the State Government, the wagers completing seven years of service would be regularised. Earlier, the Chief Minister listened to the public grievances at Losar and approved the demand of the local people to construct a sports stadium at Spiti.
He announced to open Health Sub Centres at Kyamo, upgradation of Government middle school Key Gompa to high school and construction of second storey of Manjushri Bodh Temple. Shri Virbhadra Singh dedicated Kyamo-Hansa bridge over the Spiti river constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.38 crore and also laid foundation stone of Sheela Nallah to Kaza irrigation scheme which would be completed by spending a sum of Rs. 8.82 crore.
