Deputy Mayor greets people of Shimla for awarding incentive grants under AMRUT

Deputy Mayor of Shimla and CPI(M) leader Mr. Tekinder Singh Panwer today greeted people of this civic body for getting national incentives grants tune to Rs. 3 Crore under AMRUT ( Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Development) while addressing media person.

 

Congratulating the people of the town for getting a quantitative leap in AMRUT for qualifying into adept functioning, Mr Pawner said that SLIP( State Level Integration Plan)  for the city was prepared by the internal strength and capacity of the staff and without taking assistance of a single consultant. He said that MC could not hire consultants as several roadblocks were laid by the UD department of state as it did not released the the grant under AMRUT to MC Shimla on the political victimization.

 

“Despite the non-cooperation of the UD department with a complete prejudice and bias against Shimla the team MC was still able to sail and steer through. The State UD department was  marred with paranoia of just ‘one town’ vision and that is why even the amount of SBM (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) has been completely diverted to one city.” Mr. Panwer said attacking Himachal Minister for Urban Development Mr. Sudhir Sharma who belonged to Dharamshala assembly segment.

 

Commenting up on the media statement issued by Mr. Sharma informing about Shimla MC getting AMRUT incentive grant CPI(m) leader argued former who have stated on the floor of Himachal Pradesh Assembly to dissolve the CPI(M) ruled MC government announced to receive the incentive grant himself as it wold be handed over by the Prime Minister.

 

Keeping the track record of minister to create hassle  in the flagship program of Centre, the Deputy Mayor told that a letter to be issued by the city government to Union Urban Development Minister and  Prime minister to not invite Mr. Sharma for the award ceremony to issued incentive grant keeping.

 

He alleged that MC Shimla initially did not include in the Smart City project as it was included after court intervention. The partisan approach was also adopted by the minister with civic body vis-a vis to Dharamshala as former was deprived of enough or requisite central grant given under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
