Many regions of HP lashed by rainfall, thunder & hailstorm

After a week long dry spell in Shimla town and its surrounding areas rainfall, thunder showers and hailstorm lashed many places this afternoon dipping down the day temperature marginally. Shimla town experienced heavy down pour along with light wind and hailstorm this afternoon and its surrounding areas disrupting normal life partly. There was long dry spell in the town for few days however thick clouds were hovering in the sky since morning.

It restricted the movement of traffic and commuters in Shimla town. Rainfall and thundershowers also lashed at nearby tourists stations like Kufri, Narkanda and Mashobra. During the last 24 hours, rainfall recorded at Dharamshala 24 mm, Bangana in Una 15 mm, Nadaun  of Hamirpur 12 mm, Dehra and Jogindernagar 11 mm  each, Palampur 8 mm, Guler 7 mm and Una 4 mm.

 

The minimum temperature was slightly high to the normal as Shimla was high at 15.8 mm, Keylong 11.3 degrees, Kalpa 12.4 mm,  Sundernagar 20.8 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 19.4 degrees, Dharamshala 15.6 degrees, Una 24 degrees, Nahan 20.8 degrees, Palampur and Solan 18.5 degrees each, Mandi and Chamba 19 degrees each, Manali 10.6 degrees, Kangra 19.4 degrees and Hamirpur 23 degrees respectively.

 

The Met office forecast rainfall and thunder showers in the State during the next 24 hours.
