Nepal PM to visits Asia’s largest hydro-power project in HP

    The Nepal Prime Minister Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal Pranchanda would visits 1500 Mega Watt biggest underground hydro power station in Asia at Nathpa Jhakri situated on the border of Shimla and Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh tomorrow, the police official confirmed.

     

    The State Government have beefed up the security around the project following Mr. Pranchanda’s visits to Jakhari tomorrow. A team of IB also visited the spot today to check the security arrangement. This neighboring Himalayan states is likely to set up power project on its water tributaries owing similar topography, the sources said.

     

    The State owned mini blue chip power firm Satluj Jal Vidhut Nigam limited reknown as SJVNL running the Nathpa Jakhari power project in the State and also other couple of others projects having capacity of about 2000 MW. Mr. Prachanda has arrived here yesterday on a four-day visit to India.
