Landslide kills 4 hydro power workers, 5 others sustain injuries

    A massive landslide buried down nine workers of Parvati hydro power project belonging to NHPC at Manihar area of Kullu district killing four of them on the spot while five others sustained injuries when they were traveling in a vehicles this morning, the senior administration officer told himvani.

     

    The Deputy Commissioner of Kullu Mr. Hansraj Chauhan said that the mishap occurred in Ghadsa valley of the district when nine workers were about deployed for inside a tunnel at Manihar area. Massive landslides hit their vehicle on the road and the injured have been admitted in Kullu Zonal Hospital.

     

    The victims were going to join the work shift inside the tunnel while a massive landslide fell on them at Panchnalah burring down their vehicles by the boulders and muck of the landslides. The deceased were identified as Laxman (42), Nandan (36) both belonged to Jharkhand, 40 years old Khem Raj of Nepal and Sugrim (24) of Bihar. Two bodies have been retrieved from the muck while two others were brought down by rescue team from a hillock.
