With 16 new AIIMS health services to be transformed in the country

    The Union Health Minister for State Mr. Faggan Singh Pulaste said that 16 new AIIMS health services centres to be transformed in the country as one of such institution is coming up in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. While interacting to media persons Mr. Pulaste said that union government decided to upgrade existing medical colleges in the state after converting them to super specialty hospitals.
    The Union government was providing extra wards to the existing medical colleges and creation of new MD and MS posts. He said that two medical college and one AIIMS are being set up in Himachal Pradesh as centre would provide Rs 150 crores for each medical college. He said that after passing of new MCI Act the Union government succeeded to conduct nationwide Premedical Entrance and BDS Examination in the country which would bring equitable candidates of high caliber.
    The minister said that each state would form its committee to regulate the fee structure in private medical colleges under the supervision of respective State High Court so that such institutions could create new doctors without charging exorbitant medical donation and fee from them. He said that number of doctors are likely to be increased up to 7000 in the country with increasing of number of MBBS seats. The minister said that Union Government has decided to deploy mobile van, rural health mobile centers and organized special health comps to strengthen health services in the far flung and backward areas of country.
