The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation also renown as Himachal Tourism today celebrated its 45th foundation day in the State as saplings were transplanted outsides its properties through out the state today. The Managing Director of HPTDC Mr. Dinesh Malhotra told Himvani that the State sector units celebrated the occasion with transplanting the saplings in all the premises and properties in the State as Deodar and Chanar sapplings were planted by him in Loghut units at world tourist resort Manali today.
He said that HPTDC owns more than 60 luxurious hotels, ten cafeterias and two clubs in the State and it was now earning profit after employing work force of about 1600 people. He said that HPTDC promotes the culture and state cuisines besides it work for the preservation of the enriched environment and forest of this hill state.
Apart from this the first guest checking-in at Hotel Holiday Home-Shimla, Hotel Kunzam- Manali and Hotel Dhauladhar-Dharamshala were provided with one-day free stay for September 1, the sources said. “HPTDC vice-chairman Harish Janartha, managing director Dinesh Malhotra and Members of HPTDC board of directors planted trees at Shimla, Manali, Chintpurni, Barog, Dharamshala, Kullu and Narkanda to mark the occasion,” the sources said.
The employees of the corporation organised get-together at every complex to remember, honor and celebrate its achievements. The corporation founded on September 1, 1972, acted as a catalyst, trend setter and a prime mover for the promotion of domestic and foreign tourism in the State.
