High reaches of Lahaul Spiti experience 1st snowfall of the season

The high reaches of Lahaul Spiti district including Lady of Keylong, Kunzum Pass, Seven Sisters’s hill, Goshal hills, Baralacha and Sinkula pass experienced snowfall last night as district headquarter Keylong got 2 mm rainfall.

Reports arriving said that with dipping down of the night temperature during the Monsoon season Lady of Keylong, Saptrish hill, Goshal hill, Kunzum Pass and Barlacha got 5 to 6 centimetre snowfall. The 13050 ft high Rohtang pass also called the gateway to Lahaul Spiti district recorded snowflake however it’s downstream reported light rainfall. Tourist resort Dalhousie reported 10 mm fresh rainfall today. Shimla town got 10 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours as it experienced 3 mm rainfall in the day.

Keylong recorded minimum temperature of 11.8 degree Celsius last night, Kalpa in Kinnuar 12.8 degrees, Manali 13 degrees and Shimla 17 mm respectively. The Met office forecast monsoon rainfall in isolated party in the high reaches however it was mainly dry in the State today.
