Monsoon fury took two lives in Sirmaur district of Himachal

The South West Monsoon lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours as it intensified since last. It took two lives as they got buried under the landslide as a house collapsed under its impact in a village of Sangrah sub division under Sirmaur district last night, the police sources said.

Heavy rainfall lashed in Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur distircts during the last 24 hours. Mrs. Kanso Devi (50 years) wife of Mr. Layak Ram & Ms. Seema (16) daughter of late Sh. Gurdaya Ram resident of Jawagdhar near Sangrah died under the debris of landslide that entered in the house last night at around 1245 hours.

The Gaggal airport got 166 mm rainfall, Palampur 155 mm, Dharamshala 123 mm, Joginder nagar 116 mm, Shimla 65 mm, Guler in Kangra 61 mm, Sangraha 55 mm, Baijnath 54 mm, Renuka 50 mm, Kheri in Chamba 40 mm, Naina Devi in Bilaspur 36 mm, Mashobra 32 mm, Bharmaur in Kullu 24 mm and Kasauli 20 mm each.

The minimum temperature of Kalpa in Kinnaur was 14 degrees, Shimla 15 degrees, Manali and Keylong in Lahaul Spiti 15.6 degrees each, Chamba 16 degrees, Dharamshala 16.2 degrees, Palampur 17 degrees, Mandi 19.2 degrees, Kangra and Nahan 19.4 degrees each, Solan 20 degrees, Bhuntar 22 degrees, Sundernagar and Hamirpur 23 degrees each and Bilaspur 24.6 degrees.

The Met Office has warned heavy rainfall in the mid and foothills and likely to have a widespread rainfall in the State in the next 24 hours.
