Chamba: The district administration’s move to hear the grievances of Sillaghrat panchayat residents against the controversial Hul power project was thwarted when members of Sal Ghatti Bachho Sanghrash Samiti jammed the way near village Jadera on Friday.

Ashwani Kumar Choudhry, additional district magistrate, Chamba, along with sub-divisional magistrate Sandeep Negi and other officers marched from Chamba to Sillaghrat, but the members of the Sal Ghatti Bachho Sanghrash Samiti, mostly women, blocked their way. People showed their resentment over the way the administration was allegedly trying to work out a solution.

  1. Why would so called Sangharsh Committee block officials who have come to resolve their problem? This clearly shows that the so called sangharsh is a politically(communist) motivated stunt using local grievances as a mask with these communist hoodlums hiding behind the people who want their dictatorial edicts to be followed – NO DEVELOPMENT (no dams, no factories etc) in Himachal. The ADM and SDM Chamba went to resolve the problem but forgot one thing – anti development communists do not want a solution and the fire the communists, along with other commie sympathizing activists, have stoked will die out once a solution or a compromise is reached. It is a shame that communists can stoop so low and put the lives of people on the line. I would request readers to study the format used in states where naxal terrorism has become a menace and compare with this sham drama of sangharsh BS.

But isn't that how the game is always played. The locals themselves never have the voice! They are always spoken for – by activists, communist goons etc. At the end of it all – do we have a local voice? No. The locals will be tutored by these frauds of sangharsh committee (read communist party) to oppose or block dialogue with govt. authorities like in this case. Solution by the government is a death knell for their political stunt and I am willing to wager that superstar activists like MEdha Patkar and other communist goons are just a step away to nationalize and internationalize this non issue and give visibility to communist polticians (and activists, to an extent) of our state since they are virtually on the fringes, come elections and their people base is next to nothing compared with the 2 major political parties – BJP and Congress.

    • It is interesting to see that you are quick to condemn each and every body as communist, (personally I hate communists , but I hate corporate mouthpieces like you too) . I am willing to give the women the benefit of the doubt as all the facts have not been presented here. After all land here is considered mother and some people still have qualms selling their mother.
The progress you seem too keen to shout about , what is it really, would you enlighten me.
The workers are from bihar, UP etc, the engineers are from out of the state mostly, what is left are the truck operators who most probably do not belong to this region if they are of this state. The managers are also from out of the state. People have to relocate from their ancestral lands so that a bunch of uptight business men can make good money, from the land of their forefathers.
Compensation is a joke, most of the money that comes from govt comes as a trickle, with a scam being revealed years later. After all this there is the loss of community, you can build many things but you can never build community.
Also, Industrial development on a large scale is not the way for our state. If you are literate enough then you will know that most of Himachal is in high danger seismic zone.
Also, the world is gravitating towards a more knowledge based economy and we should try to nurture knowledge based economy.
With reference to your naxalite infested states I would like to refer the exploitation that has occurred by your development bringing angels , red dust or something causing cancer among hundreds in Orissa.
I hope you post replies with more substance rather than vitriolic attacks on popular public figures.

P.S : If after being in power for many years both Congress and BJP seem to you to have less star power than I don't think the public figures are to blame here.

  3. asclepius, your whole heartburn rotates around me stating the truth about NGOs, Medha Patkar and others (popular public figures in your post, so popular that they were pelted with tomatos and shoes by the tribals in Chattisgarh, hahaha)who follow the disruptive ideology. Rather than going about in a round about way, you can easily say what you want and save both of us some time and energy. Hain na! Rest of the post can be dismissed since it is based on illogical arguments and outright lies (corporate mouthpieces like you, condemn each and every body as communist). Before you reply, i suggest you to use your own imagination in answering to my comment rather than scamming off oft used sound bites.
p.s. re naxalite terrorism infested states, tell us the names of the naxalite terrorist leaders who have been through "exploitation that has occurred by your development bringing angels, red dust or something causing cancer among hundreds"? If what you write is the case, why are the tribals(Salwa Judum in Chattisgarh) hell bent on fighting the naxalite terrorists who are, as we are disdainfully told, fighting on behalf of tribals?

p.p.s. Power of Himachal BJP and Cong is/isn't under threat, that is least of my concern. Commie jokers are going to remain on the fringes in HP for a long time. My concern is, these local commies providing few hundred people legit manpower and combining with the money, network and brainpower of NGOs to make mountain out of molehills and portray as if the whole town is against the projects and bringing unnecessary attention to the state, all because NGO thugs don't want development. What about the unemployed people of my generation and the starving millions in India? NGOs are very concerned about people being rehabilitated due to construction of dams but never spare a thought for those lakhs people who have moved out of their village/city to metros or other cities because there is no decent local job/industry. You say India should move towards knowledge based economy and it requires setting up super universities, labs with supercomputers, isn't it? What about "Himachal is in high danger seismic zone" BS, will the quake spare the university just because it has a green certificate from an NGO? And if the electricity is not there, what will the computers and other research equipment run on? Mitti ka tel 🙂
