An Austrian trekker reportedly got injured and sent a ”Send Out Succour” signal during trekking in the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) region of Kullu yesterday, the administrative officer confirmed today.
The Additional District Magistrate Kullu, Mr. Vinay Singh Thakur confirmed that the rescue party and police had made contact with the injured trekkers moreover travel agency was providing him all support to bring him back.
After having the rescue call district administration and police sprung into action to assist the victim. However, later the message was received that accidentally SOS alarm was raised and the condition of the injured was stable. He was reportedly administered first-aid and was brought back to Bagi Vishadi village and will be brought back to Kullu on Friday. .
The rest eight members of the Austrian trekking team will continue on the expedition. This group had left for Shangchar on Tuesday and one of them had injured his hand on Wednesday. The expedition was being organized by Sunshine Himalaya Adventure company that claimed to be in constant touch with the injured trekker and expedition in the GNHP.
