The pre-monsoon showers lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh dropping down the mercury level and giving respite from the sweltering heat waves.

Ghumarwin in Bilaspur recorded 105 mm rainfall, Berthin in Bilaspur 82 mm, tourist resort Kasauli 73 mm, Paonta sahib in Sirmour 70 mm, Arki in Solan 69 mm, Dehra gopipur in Kangra 63 mm, Aghar 58 mm, Mehre 48 mm, Hamirpur in 40 mm and Bhoran & Ghamroor 35 mm each.

Kahu in Hamirpur and Amb in Una 31 mm each, Jhandutta in Bilaspur and Dharampur in Mandi 30 mm each, Nainadevi and Sangraha 22 mm each, Bilaspur 19 mm and Sarkaghat in Mandi 16 mm, Sundernagar 14 mm, Nadaun 12 mm, Mashobra, Jubbarhatti and Bangana 11 mm each.

The temperature recorded at Shimla was 15.8 degree Celsius, Sundernagar in Mandi 21 degrees, Bhuntar 21.5 degrees, Kalpa 15 degrees, Dharamshala 16 degrees, Una 25.5 degrees, Nahan 20.9 degrees, Keylong 14.4 degrees, Palampur in Kangra 20 degrees, Dalhousie 17.6 degrees, Solan 19.7 degrees, Manali 14 degrees, Kangra 23 degrees, Bilaspur 21.5 degrees, Hamirpur 23.7 degrees and Mandi 20.8 degrees.

The Met Office forecasts rainfall at many places in the mid hills, few places in the foothills and isolated parts of the high reaches in the next 24 hours.
