Summer showers give little respite from heat waves in Himachal

The summer showers lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh last night and this afternoon giving little respite from sweltering heat waves in the State. Also a man got injured when a branch of tree came down on him in Solan today after it was knocked down by the wind storm.

Report arriving said that the normal life was disrupted today when wind storms occurred in Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur district this evening. A youth belonging to Bilaspur district identified as Sandeep Thakur (24 years) got head injury when a huge branch of tree came down on him due to the thunder storm. The injured has been reportedly serious and he is referred to PGI Chandigarh.

The maximum temperature of Una was recorded 42 degrees, Shimla was high at 27.6 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi 36.5 degrees, Bhunter 36.2 degrees, Kalpa 25.6 degrees, Dharamshala 33.8 degrees, Nahan 34 degrees, Solan 32.6 degrees respectively.

The Met office forecast mainly dry weather in the State for the next 24 hours.
