The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh who is frequently facing the quizzing by the investigating agencies like Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate for acquiring assets and income disproportionate from his source of income was today blamed by Opposition BJP in the hill state for misusing his powers for personal interests.
“About 1350 square feet chunk of land at Holly lodge was sold for sum of Rs 5000 to a party comprising of seven persons by Chief Minister on Oct 1974 was forcefully acquired by state forest department in year 2007 ” Mr. Arun Dhumal who is son of former CM and leader of Opposition Mr Prem Kumar told media persons today.
“Is it not a fit case of misuse of official position by the six-time chief minister to waive off all the stringent bylaws of forest and the municipal corporation for his kin however, land sold to others was forcefully vested in the forest department alongside ancestral property of Mr. Singh at Holly lodge.” Mr. Dhumal releasing documents exposing the deal struck in 1974 and land accusation proceeding of 2007 in said piece of land.
He pointed out that after acquiring same chunk of land by forest department not a single tree was transplanted however owners resented the acquisition proceeding in the court.
Mounting the pressure on six-time chief minister to tender resignation on the high moral grounds BJP leader alleged that a man who had to sold his ancestral and for Rs 5000 was under scanner of CBI and ED as he could not able to explain his source income.
