HP confirms services of 3420 Primary Assistant Teachers

    The Himachal Pradesh Government would confirm the services of about 3420 Primary Assistant Teacher (PAT) who are being trained under the National Council for Technical Education (NCTE) norms. This was stated by the HP Chief Minister Mr.Virbhadra Singh in the State Assembly while replying to a query of Congress member Ms. Asha Kumari during the Question Hour today.

    Mr. Singh who also holds the portfolio of Education said that the services of all Primary Assistant Teachers will be regularized as soon as they would join the schools after getting trained.

    He said that the 2 years training was made compulsory for the teachers at NIOS Noida and those who have B.Ed degrees are required to have 6 months Bridge cross as per the direction of NCTE of Human Resource Ministry.

    He informed that the Kangra distirct have 857 PAT teachers,  Mandi 474, Shimla 453, Sirmour 304, Una 286, Chamba 284, Kullu 230, Solan 188, Hamirpur 95, Lahaul Spiti 65 and Kinnuar 29 respectively.

    The training to the PAT teachers is compulsory under NCTE norms and the State cannot regularise the services of the teachers until they complete their training
