Met office warns of thunder & hailstorm in parts of HP

The Met Office warned of thunderstorm and hailstorms in certain parts of the mid and foot hills in the next 24 hours. However, it forecasts light to moderate rainfall on the mid hills and plains and snowfall on the higher reaches as it was partly cloudy and hazy today.

The Local Met Office incharge Mr. Manmohan Singh said that the thunderstorms accompanied with hailstorm are likely to occur at isolated places in the mid and foot hills. However, the rains and thundershowers are likely to occur at few places in the mid and plain and snowfall at few places in the higher reaches.

The mercury sharply increased in the last 24 hours, as the capital town Shimla was recorded as warmest of this season with the maximum temperature of 24 degrees yesterday.

The minimum temperature of Shimla was recorded 15.2 degrees today, Sundernagar 10.6 degrees, Bhuntar 9 degrees, Kalpa 6.6 degrees, Dharamshala 11.4 degrees, Una 15 degrees, Nahan 17 degrees, Solan 12.2 degrees, Manali 6 degrees, Kangra 14.6 degrees, Keylong 0.5 degrees and Saluni in Chamba 5.5 degrees respectively.
