Long queues could be seen since early morning as people were carrying milk and Bel-Patra leaves to offer to Lord Shiva. Most of the people celebrate this festival in this hill state and were busy since a day before to make special food items for the Mahashivratri festival.

On this occasion people also distributed the food items to their relatives in far-flung areas. The famous Mandi Shivratri festival will also be unveiled from tomorrow.

Most of the Shiva devotees also observe fast as a mark of respect to Lord Shiva on the auspicious occasion of Lord Shiva’s marriage to Maa Parvati.
