The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee today criticised Rail Budget 2016 which was presented by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and said that the budget had nothing to offer to Himachal Pradesh.

HPCC Media Department Chairman Naresh Chauhan said that the people of the State had high expectations from the Rail Budget but the Himachalis are now felling cheated with this budget as nothing new was announced for this hilly State.

“The Railway Budget is very disappointing in Himachal’s perspective as there is nothing in the budget for the State,” he said.

He said that the four BJP MPs who had got massive mandate during Lok Sabha elections seemed to have failed in putting forward the issue of development of rail network in the state which was the reason that no budgetary allocations were made for the same in the Railway Budget 2016.

“Overall, there is nothing new to offer for the general public of the country as there was no concern for safety aspect in the Budget,” he added.
