High reaches of HP experience snowfall and rain lashes downstream

Ending the long dry spell in the State, high reaches of Himachal Pradesh was experiencing snowfall and the downstream were lashed with intermittent rainfall since this morning. Tourist resort Kufri, Narkanda and Fagu recorded snowfall.

High reaches of Himachal Pradesh on Friday morning got another spell of snowfall as Keylong, headquarter of Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Bharmour of Chamba, Kharapather, tourist resort Kufri, Narkanda and Fagu experienced snowfall.

Narkanda and Khardpather got 6-7 centimeter snowfall and Kufri 3 centimeter. The vehicular traffic however continued on the Hindustan Tibet Road and on Theog Gumma road.

Shimla and its nearby areas were experiencing intermittent rainfall since this morning. Reports of rain and snowfall are also coming from the rest of the State.

Due to overcasting of sky with dense cloud over night minimum temperature went up by 4-5 degrees as Keylong was low at -3.3 degrees, Kalpa -1.4 degrees, Bhunter 2.4 degrees, Manali 3.8 degrees, Solan 5 degrees, Shimla 6.4 degrees, Dharamshala and Seobagh in Kullu 7 degrees, Sundernagar 9 degrees, Nahan in Siramaour distirct 9.6 degrees and Una 11 degrees.

Met office forecasts rain and snow in many parts of the State during the next 24 hours.
