A number of tourists who are planning to visits tourist resorts of this hill state on this weekend have good news as Indian Meteorological Department forecast widespread or snowfall in the state.
Director of local Met Office Mr. Manmohan Singh said that on Jan 29th it would be cloudy and likely to bring light rain and snowfall. He said that there are also chances of rain (up to 70 per cent) on Friday night as 6-centimetre rain and snow could occur. Following rain and snowfall likely to dip down the mercury to minus after 2-3 centimetre of snowfall in the tourists resorts.
The forthcoming rain and snow would likely end long dry spell in the state but also boom the hospitality industry which is still waiting snowfall at the tourists resorts. Cold wave conditions continue in the state as Mercury is keeping near freezing point.
Keylong was recorded low at -5.7 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur -3.2 degrees, Manali -0.6 degrees, Seobagh 1.5 degrees, Bhunter 2 degrees, Solan 3 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi and Shimla 4 degrees each, Dharmshala, Una and Kangra 5 degrees each and Nahan 7 degrees.
