Balloon of Meteorological Department found at Majhwar

The Police Station Sadar in Mandi district yesterday received an information that a balloon was lying near Majhwar. On receiving this information the undersigned deputed Sh. Arjit Sen Thakur – IPS ASP Mandi visited the spot to verify the facts.

On reaching the spot the balloon was found and it depicted on it “made in Germany” along with barcode and number of Meteorological Department.

On this Sh. Rakesh Sen from Meteorological Department Observatory, Sundernagar was contacted and he conveyed that such balloons along with instrument called Radiosonde are sent by their department time to time, to observe atmospheric conditions. Hence, the said balloon is not suspicious as per facts verified from the Met Department, Sundernagar.

A similar balloon was also found in Ladbharol area recently. The general public is appealed to inform the local police or Meteorological Department in case such scientific instrument/balloon are found in future as well.
