State banks and allied unions staged protest in Himachal today

    On the call of All India Bank Employees Associations, SBI and 5 other allied bank unions protest was held today staging Dharna outside their respective bank branches in the State.

    General Secretary of HP State Bank employees union Mr. M.S. Verma said that protest was held against the monopoly of State Bank of India Management by employees of UCO Bank, Punjab National Bank.

    Employees unions stressed on demands of increasing the house loans to staff, hiking in the overdraft on the analogy of officers, recruitment of peons and other staff members, providing the facility of overdraft to those employees who are entitled under employees pension scheme, beginning of appointment on compassionate ground and forcing SBI career progression scheme.

    Agitating employees threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands would not be conceded.
