Counting of votes for 192 Zila Parishads and 1280 Block Samitis in HP tomorrow

    The counting of votes for 192 Zila Parishads and 1280 Block Samitis will be held at respective Block offices and district headquarters tomorrow, deciding the fate of thousand of candidates in fray for three tire Panchayati Raj poll in Himachal Pradesh.

    State election commissioner Mr. T G Negi said that barring district Kangra and tribal areas the counting will begin at 0800 hrs tomorrow in respective District and Block offices in the State.

    The polling was held for rural bodies on Jan 1st, 3rd & 5th 2016. The election polling, counting and results are already declared for all Gram Panchayats and wards expect Bijarhi development block in Hamirpur where election were being held on one day delay.

    About 80.02 percent of total 4825312 voters exercised their franchises hectic parley as a number of contenders were staking their claim in non-party symbol poll.

    A number of Gram Panchayat, Zila Parishads and Block Samitis were elected unopposed as State had announced Rs 5 lakh for Panchayat, Rs 10 lakh for block samiti and Rs 15 lakh for Zila Parishads for electing an unopposed president and vice president.
