Delhi High Court today heard arguments of Central Bureau of Investigation in disproportionate assets case lodged by the agency against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh in September last year.
Recently Mr. Singh had moved up to Delhi High court against the CBI decision for not issuing the copy of FIR and other related documents. The court adjourned the hearing to Jan 7th and will also hear arguments of Enforcement directorate.
Today CBI counsel presented their arguments before single judge bench of justice Ashutosh at Delhi High Court. Mr. Singh decided to go before the court to seek remedy as CBI and ED registered cases of DA and money laundering against him and refused to supply the copy of FIR and other documents related in the case.
Mr. Singh pleaded before the High Court that he could not respond to the agencies queries unless he was not being supplied the copy of related documents and FIR during the interrogation. During the last hearing, the Court had asked reply from the both agencies on Mr. Singh’s plea.
Now the decision is likely to come on Jan 7th as whether the case documents should be handed over to Mr. Singh or not. CBI had booked Mr. Singh and his family members in the case of DA case and other charges of corruption after which various premises of Chief Minister were raided by the agency.
In another plea lodged by Chief Minister in Himachal Pradesh High Court, Mr. Singh got relief that he should not be arrested and the Court should be informed before interrogating him. CBI has also moved to Supreme Court against Himachal Pradesh High Court order.
