Recong-peo gets 3G service

Shimla: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has successfully linked the remote tribal district of Kinnaur with its 3G mobile service, a senior functionary of BSNL said here today.

BSNL general manager for HP circle P Singh told media persons here that Recong-peo, headquarters of Kinnuar district, has been linked with 3G services. He said that Auckland, Himland, Broadview hotel, Sanjauli and Chakker outskirts in Shimla have also been added to this service. He said that some more areas in the upper hills were also being added to this facility as 16 BTS towers have been raised in these areas including 10 in Theog sub-division alone. With this, 3G service would also become commission in Theog, Lafughati, Thailoghati, Bragli, Kaithnalai, Kalbag, Teel, Bailan, Kason and Gangali.

He said that strict action would be taken against private firms who are raising illegal mobile towers in the state and municipal administrations have constituted ward committees to probe illegal towers in the towns.
