Electoral rolls to be updated in Himachal



SHIMLA: The State Election Commission, Himachal Pradesh, is carrying out intensive revision of electoral rolls for the preparation of photo electoral rolls to be used during Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. Voters can get their names included or corrected in the Electoral Rolls of 62 Assembly constituencies of 10 districts (except Kinnaur and Solan) of the state. House to house visit and verification of existing entries along with photo in the election rolls, inclusion of names of electors who are of 18 years of age and above as on 01.01.2007 and have become eligible for inclusion in the rolls for the first time or otherwise, deletion of names of dead or migrated electors and correction in particulars of entries like name, age, parentage, sex etc. will be carried out by the officials appointed for the purpose from November 20 to December 19, 2006.

Electors photo identity cards issued by the Election Department in the past would also be verified during this period.
