HP Assembly pays tribute to former MLA

Himachal Pradesh Assembly today paid tribute to its former members as it assembled for 5 day Winter Session. Speaker Sh.Brij Behari Lal Butail informed the house about recent demise of Sh.Lajja Ram, four-time MLA from the Doon constituency.

Speaker, Chief Minister Sh.Virbhadra Singh, Opposition leader Sh.Prem Kumar Dhumal and son of Sh.Lajja Ram who is sitting MLA from Doon also paid homage to Sh.Lajja Ram. The house also absorbed two minutes of silence.

Choudhary Lajja Ram(82) who had been former Chief Parliamentary Secretary, died recently following a cardiac arrest at Baddi. He won his first Vidhan Sabha poll in 1990 when he was elected on a Janta Dal ticket after ousting the then popular MLA Sh.Ramprakash Chandel.
