Opposition stages walkout on the 1st day of Winter Session

Seeking adjournment on the issue of CBI and ED probe against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sh.Virbhadra Singh, Opposition BJP staged walkout on the first day of winter session at Tapovan today.

As the house assembled for day proceeding after paying obituary on the death of assembly members, BJP member (Nahan) Sh.Rajiv Bindal demanded that speaker should give ruling over notice given by them under rule 67 seeking discussion on the issue suspending entire business in the house.

Speaker Sh.Brij Behari Lal Butail rejected the adjournment motion. He said that matter could not be raised in the house since matter is pending in the court and subjudice.

Sh.Bindal, Sh.Randhir Sharma(BJP-Gulair) and Sh.Suresh Bhardwaj protested against the chair for not allowing them to discuss the issue. BJP members stressed that news items appearing in the media about the CBI and ED probe against State Chief Minister should be discussed first.

However speaker asked the members to take question hours ignoring their protest amid shouting slogans in the house.

All members of BJP walked out from the house stating that they were denied by chair to raise the issue of urgent importance.
