Floral tributes paid to Mrs. Indira Gandhi at Shimla


Governor Acharya Devvrat administered the national integration pledge to officers and officials of Raj Bhawan here today to mark the beginning of ‘Communal Harmony Campaign Week’ being observed from 19-25 November,2015.

Mr. Pushpendra Rajput (secretary to the governor), officers and officials of Raj Bhawan were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today led the State in paying homage to the former Prime Minister late Mrs. Indira Gandhi on her 98th birth anniversary.

The Chief Minister, Ministers and other prominent persons offered floral tributes to the statue of Smt. Gandhi at the historic Ridge Maidan, Shimla.

The Chief Minister remembered special love and affection of Smt. Indira Gandhi towards Himachal Pradesh and its people.

She bestowed full-fledged statehood status to Himachal Pradesh on 25th January,1971 amidst heavy snowfall at the Ridge Maidan.

Irrigation & Public Health Minister Smt. Vidya Stokes, MP and Power Minister Mr. Sujan Singh Pathania, Social Justice & Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Nand Lal, Mayor Shri Sanjay Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Shri Tikendar Panwar, Chairman HP Waqf Board Khawaja Khalillulah, former MLAs Shri Adarsh Sood and Shri Ram Singh, former Mayor Smt. Jeni Prem, Councilors, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Dinesh Malhotra, Commissioner MC Shri Pankaj Rai and prominent persons of town and children of various schools also paid tributes to Smt. Indira Gandhi.

The artists of Information and Public Relations Department presented devotional and patriotic songs on the occasion.
