Chief Minister lays down the foundation stone of car parking



    Himachal Pradesh Chief Minsiter Mr. Virbhadra Singh today laid down the foundation stone for car parking and commercial complex at Vikas Nagar in the outskirts of this capital town, which would cost about Rupees 20 crore.

    Municipal Corporation Shimla and Rudra Infrastructure Construction Limited will commission the parking lot on Built Operate Transfer (BOT) basis. The complex would have ten story buildings comprising of seven floors of parking and three floors of commercial space. With the capacity of about 175 light vehicles. It would have all basic amenities like fire escape, staircase and barrier free movement.

    Mr. Virbhadra Singh has said that with the addition of more parking lots in town the traffic congestion could really be neutralized. He also said that new parking facilities are developed at Sanjauli and Tutikandi (ISBT) and near Himachal Tourism lift. Along with this the state is also mooting out the alternative transportation system like ropeways to facilitated visitors.
