Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness The Dalai Lama has said that Tibetans would eventually go back to Tibet fulfilling their long term goal and rebuild what has been destroyed by the present political regime.

“We Tibetans are refugees too and our goal is to eventually go back and rebuild what’s been destroyed in our country,” said the world’s most famous exile in Cambridge in the context of the comparison with Europe’s refugee crisis.

The Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader, who has himself been in exile for 56 years, praised Germany in particular for offering sanctuary to thousands of people fleeing war in Syria and elsewhere as wonderful but insisted that it is not a long-term solution.

“It’s very good, that there’s nothing else to do but to help these desperate people in any way we can, but what’s more important in the long term is to bring peace to the lands these people are fleeing. and that’s where they should be” said the Dalai Lama to the Media in Cambridge, according to the Dalai Lama office here today.
