Mr. Acharya Dev Vrat will be the 27th Governor of Himachal Pradesh by replacing Rajasthan Governor Mr. Kalayan Singh who was holding an additional charge of Himachal Pradesh since 28th January, 2015.
A release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan at New Delhi today said that Mr. Acharya Vrat Sharma will be the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Mr. Ramnath Govind the Governor of Bihar.
Mr Kalayan Singh took over the former Governor Ms. Urmila Singh after completion of her tenure on 25th January, 2015. Mr Vrat was earlier serving as Principle in Gurukul Vidyalaya at Kurukshetra, Haryana and in various Arya Samaj movements.
The new Governor is likely to take over early next week as Rajbhavan sources have conveyed that it would release schedule of oath ceremony tomorrow. In the state where Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh is facing a preliminary inquiry by CBI and main opposition BJP is accusing him for charges of repentant corruption reshuffle which is keenly observed by the people of this state.
