Governor hosts banquet for President at Raj Bhavan today



Himachal Pradesh Governor Mr.Kalyan Singh today hosted a cultural program and banquet in honor of President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukharjee at Raj Bhavan this evening as confirmed by a senior officer of Raj Bhavan.

“President of India was to be hosted with cultural program and banquet by Mr. Singh in the Darbar hall of Raj Bhavan at 1930 hrs which would be attended by the all officials of Rashtrapati Bhavan (President house) accompanied with Mr. Mukharjee and his family members” Spokesperson of Raj bhavan told HimvaniB

Chief Minister Mr. Virbhaddra Singh, members of his cabinet and top officials of state government were be remain present in this event, the official added.

Earlier today Mr. Mukharjee stayed at The Retreat near Mashobra on outskirt of this capital town as he had no official engagement during his stay, except this event at Raj Bhavan.

President would host a reception to some journalists of capital town during the day on Sunday Jun 14, 2015 and dinner to Chief minister and his cabinet member in the evening at Retreat. He would then leave for Delhi on the Morning of Jun 14, 2015 from Kalyani Helipad completing five-day state sojourn.

After taking over the President office this is the fifth visit of Mr. Mukharjee to this hill state and second to the town. The President visits ‘The Retreat’ at least once a year and the core office shifts to that place during his stay.

State has made elaborate arrangements of security at Retreat and all along the roads which the President would used during his short stay here.
