Health Services order mass sampling of Maggi in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh health safety department would conduct mass sampling of Maggi stocks all over state and also collect samples from Nestle manufacturing unit at Taliwal in Una, Himachal Pradesh.

Mr. Vineet Chaudhary, the Health Secretary while talking to himvani said “government has ordered to collect samples of Maggi stocks all over the state. More than 300 teams would be constituted to take mass samples of Maggi from here too after failing in the National Captial region and other parts of the country”.

Dr. Rameshwer Sharma, Director Health Safety said, “a team has already been constituted to collect samples from Nestlle manufacturing unit at Taliwal in Una, Himachal Pradesh .Inspection team led by Designated officer Mr. L.D. Thakur, Food Safety Officer, Solan, Dr. Satish Thakur and Medical Officer of Health Dr. Udit would be visiting Taliwal soon to collect samples from the manufacturing unit at Taliwal. We would then send the samples of Nestle unit to National accredited laboratory to find its contents beside other samples being collected by the Directorate of Health Safety which could be tested at state food sampling laboratory”.

Mr. Chaudhary said that they have issued orders to collect samples of Maggi stocks and it would be too early to say how many samples are being collected or how many would quality for its quality.

Mr. Ramesh Sharma said that Dr.Surekha Chopra has been given the responsibility to look after entire exercise.
