Chief Minister announces the state budget

Chief minister has announced free travel facilities in for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya in HRTC buses.

Three LED bulbs per domestic consumer is to be provided below the market price and the cost at Rupees 10 per LED bulb is to be recovered through electricity bills from consumers for fifteen months. VAT on LED bulbs will be reduced from 13.75% to 5%.

Mr.Singh said that it would assist about 21 lakh consumers in the state as bulbs available at price of Rupees 350 per LED in the market to be made available at Rupees 150 per LED after deducting Rupees 10 per month and recovering it through subsequent electricity bill. He also announced to release Rupees 380 crore for subsidizing electricity to domestic consumers for Himachal Pradesh State Electricty Board.

Chief minister proposed to increase the amount of ‘Vidhayak Khshetriya Vikas Nidhi Yojana’ from Rupees 50 lakh to Rs.70 lakh. The MLA’s would be required to spent Rupees 20 lakh on minor irrigation works like kuhls, ponds and command area development to increase the income level of farmers in their constituency.

He said that all the pending pensions would be sanctioned in favor of eligible applicants with effect from April 1, 2015.

He also announced to cover up sanitation workers, rag pickers, auto rickshaw drivers and taxi drivers under Rashtirya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) and the state government has claimed to issued 4.48 lakh smart cards to the beneficiaries during last two years.

Under food security act the state has covered 37 lakh people under Rajiv Gandhi Ann Yojana as they would be provided with three kilogram of wheat at the rate of Rupees two per kilogram and Rupees 2 per kilogram and two Kilogram of rice every month.

Mr. Singh has also decided to enhance a financial assistance for construction of houses under various housing schemes from Rupees 48,500 to Rupees 75000, for repair of house of SC, ST and OBC families and has increased from Rupees 15000 to Rupees 25000.

In order to being more people under the housing scheme income limit has been increased from Rupees 20,000 to Rupees 35,000 per annum and income limit for creamy layer of OBC has enhanced from Rupees 4 lakh to Rupees 6 lakh per annum.

The state government has decided to bring 2 lakh square meter area under protected cultivation of high value fruits, flowers and vegetables besides bringing 12 lakh square meter additional area under anti hail nets in 2015-16 after continuing subsidy of 85% on hail net and 80% on poly houses.
