HP govt clears two agro industrial units

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government today granted approval to two new agro-based industrial units – M/s Him Fresh Produce in Kotkhai of Shimla and M/S Growell Agro-System in Paonta Sahib of Sirmour district. Disclosing the detail of a state-level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority (SLSWC&MA) meeting held here last evening, an official said that SLSWC&MA gave its nod to M/s Him Fresh Produce to set up an integrated cold chain unit at Kotkhai area in Shimla and M/s Growell Agro-System in Paonta Sahib to manufacture pesticides formulation, insecticide, fungicide and herbicide, etc.

He said that both the proposals for setting up of industrial projects and one expansion proposal with total investment of Rs 18.15 crore and generating employment to 84 persons was cleared by the Authority during the meeting presided over by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
It was also decided in the meeting that with a view to maintain and conserve the environment, polluting, low employment generating and high power consuming new industrial units of arc and induction furnaces would be discouraged in the state. He said that the existing polluting industrial units have also been advised to incorporate modern anti-pollution implements into their plants so that emission of green house gases were minimized and completely checked in the near future.
