Hamirpur: Once again revisiting the ghost of India’s “glorious past”, Himachal Pradesh chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and MP Shanta Kumar on Saturday made a desperate call to rewrite history of the country “based on research findings by scholars.” This, they said, was important to make future generation proud of their glorious past.
Addressing the inaugural session of the three-day seminar held by Thakur Jagdev Chand Samriti Shodh Sansthan Samiti at Sujanpur Tihra, Dhumal said some historical facts appear contradictory to factual history of the country and therefore history of the country should be modified accordingly.
Shanta Kumar stressed on the need to remove discrepancies in the history of the country claiming that foreign aggressors misled people to disintegrate the Indian society. Dhumal went on to claim that Arians originated and flourished in India itself. The Chief Minister lauded the endeavour of Thakur Jagdev Chand Memorial Research Centre at Neri near Hamirpur to carry out exhaustive research to retrace the history of Himachal Pradesh in particular and India in general. He said that the Centre was coming up as a National level Research Centre in the country to uphold the nationalism. He said that the research findings of the Centre would go a long way in correcting the historical facts based upon the solid evidences emerging out of research activities.
