Paragliding championship cancelled



Dharamsala: Following threat by the Himachal Pradesh government in the wake of death of a Russian para-lider and accidents involving three others, the para-gliding championship scheduled to be held at Bir-Billing next week by Billing Paragliding Association has been cancelled.

Announcing the cancelation, President of Billing Para-gliding Association Suresh Thakur said, “A good opportunity to host a great event has been lost due to to the unsporting attitude of the HP government.” He claimed that around 120 pilots had registered for the championship.
