Army trekkers rescued

Shimla: Nineteen armymen from the Pathankot-based AD Regiment were finally rescued from Pin valley today after being stranded for couple of days due to sudden snowfall in the area. According to reports, three helicopters were pressed into service to search for the team.
Interestingly, the district administration had no information regarding the expedition, neither was their any confirmation from the Army regarding the team being stranded.
The team had started from Kheer Ganga near Manikaran in Kullu district to Pin valley in Lahaul and Spiti. The expedition is said to have got stuck near Mantlai. Last week, around 100 people were rescued from the Rohtang Pass area after snowfall there.
